Summary of Responsibilities : Partner with Application Development and other Enterprise Infrastructure teams to provide administrative and infrastructure support for all PeopleSoft applications. This includes but is not limited to technical support of hardware, storage, O/S, database engine, file systems, backup software, application servers, web servers, scheduling software, development tools & change control tools associated with the PeopleSoft application/database environments and ancillary systems. Provide project life cycle support from integration to implementation to post-implementation.

Principal Responsibilities: Provide technical support for all PeopleSoft applications. . Seek operational excellence by ensuring a stable environment, assist with the resolution of any system outage and participate in the identification of root causes.

Psadmin Functions: Provide production support for the handling of requests, troubleshoot problems associated with production. Provide on-call support for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Provide support for the administration and infrastructure of the PeopleSoft environments.

Infrastructure Support: Partner with other Enterprise Infrastructure groups for O/S upgrades, database upgrades, backup software, hardware capacity and other supporting software and utilities. Contribute to the system documentation as required for new hardware/software and upgrades of existing hardware/software.

Operational Excellence: Ensure stability of the environment through the use of monitoring. Work to resolve system outages and identify/resolve root cause of same. Update Disaster Recovery plans and conduct periodic tests as required. Ensure ongoing availability and viability of the failover environment. Work with the DBA’s to implement backup and recovery procedures that will meet the required objectives. Coordinate the handling of changes during the IT and Financial freeze periods to ensure stability and continuity.

Required Competencies :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Understand DBMS O/S environment, its system commands, system utilities, debugging tools and monitoring tools.
Proficient in SQL for the purpose of evaluation and tuning to enhance performance
Experience with: Web technology, Windows environments, application server tuning, load balancing, Unix scripting, Perl scripting
Self-directed, self-motivated with strong problem solving skills and customer service oriented.
Required Competencies :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work non-prime time hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary; provide 24x7 on-call problem response; provide on-site support as required in crisis situations

PeopleSoft 8x, 9x including installation and configuration of all components

Tivoli Maestro Scheduler
EMC BCV technology
Shell scripting

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Desired:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technology field strongly desired.
3-5 years experience working with PeopleSoft Infrastructure
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong analytical and communications skills.
Strong listening skills
