053 FT APPLICATION ARCHITECT

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
• Lead definition and management of technical development standards.
• Evaluate existing tools/technologies and make appropriate recommendations for projects
• Provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staffs at the highest technical level on all phases of the project development cycle
• Research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design.
• Share and teach others, new technologies, design techniques, etc.
• Ability to evaluate complex client area requirements and processes and translate into sound reusable design.
• Ability to present multiple solution options solve the complex business and technical problems
• Provide highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies, which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives.
• Is highly accountable for the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of project design decisions and how easily these designs can be implemented.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple business areas and understand the impact of systems on these areas.
• Assign roles to project resources according to skills, interest, and availability
• Accurately estimate development work effort
• Perform/ensure quality assurance by reviewing testing results and performing code reviews
• Be responsible and accountable for meeting the expectation of the project sponsor
• Act as a point person for issues and questions on a project
• Mentor staff on the skills needed to advance in their career path

Requirements
• A minimum of 8 years experience in IT with minimum of 2 years
.Net experience
• Experience in the use of UML / Rational methodology
• Extensive experience with project management methodologies and techniques (status reporting, issue management, risk management, implementation planning)
• At least 2 years defining and managing development standards.
• Extensive Expertise in Web, Mobile, and Service Oriented applications and technologies (.Net / J2EE)
• Extensive Expertise with Object-Oriented analysis and design
• Expertise with Microsoft development tools and exposure to open source technologies
• Database experience using SQL (Oracle preferred).
• Strong team building skills and ability to gain cooperation and to motivate others
• Ability to identify issues and proactively determine ways to resolve them
• An eagerness and ability to learn new skills
• Proactive, results oriented and positive attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability and desire to take full ownership of tasks and responsibilities
• The ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple business areas.
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with both technical and non-technical people at the appropriate level, in a clear concise manner.
