The CLient is seeking software engineers to join our data team. As the ideal candidate for this position, you have a blend of building software for the web that complements your passion for data and data-driven engineering. You feel comfortable building end to end software systems. You think in terms of testing hypotheses while evaluating results using data at each step.
To be a great fit for this role, you have:
- 3+ years software development experience
- Experience with standard web technologies (PHP, MySQL, Memcache, JS, CSS, HTML), ideally in a high traffic production setting
- Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling, ideally in a large multi-database environment
- Experience with Hadoop and Hadoop based platforms such as Pig, Hive, or Cascading is a big plus
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
