Job Description: 

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Telecom Design Specialist will be responsible for the design, project management, and implementation of all key telecommunications infrastructure initiatives throughout the enterprise, partnering with the Network Services department to develop enterprise telephony and contact center strategies, leading formal request for proposals, monitoring key system metrics and incident/request management.
Additional responsibilities will include researching new technology solutions for enterprise telecommunications voice equipment, contact center technologies, unified communications equipment and testing all new equipment and software prior to production deployment.
The Telecom Design Specialist will serve as Architect, Engineer, Internal Consultant, and Technology Leader.
Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
? Assist with the creation of corporate network strategies, including the planning, design, and integration of telecommunication infrastructure systems.
? Provide strategic planning to ensure telecommunications capacity meets current and future requirements and develops the methodologies for system analysis, installation, and support.
? Function as an expert-level technical advisor with advanced knowledge and experience in the area of design and implementation of local and wide area networks and related hardware/software solutions.
? Develop technical standards, and assists in the planning of corporate solutions which integrate with the corporate voice and data network.
? Provide telecommunications operations support based on performance analysis.
? Provide integrated team support and maintenance of all telecommunications systems.
? Lead the evaluation of vendor products for future purchase and present recommendations to senior management.
? Provide complex problem resolution based on real-time analysis and data collection.
? Provide leadership and training to the Telecommunications team.
TECHNICAL/JOB-SPECIFIC COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
? Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
? Expert knowledge of Avaya systems and related hardware and software.
? Expert knowledge of contact center and unified communications technologies configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
? Working knowledge of Cisco’s Intelligent Contact Management platform and call flow scripting.
? Excellent project management skills.
? Customer focused and self motivated.
? Highly organized with the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
? Strong problem-solving skills.
? Demonstrated time management skills with the strong ability to multi-task.
? Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills.
? Great attitude and highly motivated to succeed.

? Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products with special emphasis on Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Education and Related Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent education.
• Avaya Certified Specialist
